The survey by the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) and its partners which cited the Ghana Police Service and the Presidency as being the most corrupt public institutions presently in Ghana, appears not to have settled well with the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, compelling his outfit to respond in a five-page response letter.
In the five-page response letter with some thirteen points, he seeks to challenge the credibility of the findings, seek clarifications, and question reasons for certain omissions and additions. He appears particularly displeased with the methodology adopted by the researchers to arrive at their findings.
The report dubbed “2021 Ghana Integrity of Public Services Survey” revealed among other things that an estimated amount of GHC5 billion was paid as bribes in the year 2021.
